This week I have registered a new organisation called Yellow Submarine Holidays. Its purpose is to offer people with learning disabilities a greater choice with supported holidays.

I decided to register it as a Company Limited by Guarantee initially. I did this online in about 30 minutes using http://www.companywizard.co.uk/. They were good value and made the process very simple.

The reasons for going for a "limited by guarantee" are multifold. I don't wish to ever take money out of the organisation as profit so it didn't need to be a normal limited company. However in the short term I won't be seeking any donations or grants for this organisation so it didn't seem necessary to apply for a charitable status.

I'll let you know over the next few weeks how I get on and what hurdles occur.
